The French Christmas tree industry has reached a significant milestone by securing Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status for the "Sapin de Noël du Morvan" (Morvan Christmas tree). It is the first French Christmas tree to receive this European recognition. This designation rewards years of collaborative effort by industry professionals. It highlights the production's deep roots in the Morvan massif, the growers' expertise, and quality standards governed by precise specifications. Through this PGI, the industry also aims to boost the visibility and distinctiveness of French-grown trees in the face of imports within a highly competitive market.
